Kitchens often get overlooked when it comes to decor. People may invest in top of the line appliances and all the gadgets, but if they don't add little touches like textiles they remain cold and unfriendly. And what better way to warm up your kitchen and look like a pro then supporting a family run business of bright affordable linens and designs.
Scents & Feel was created in 2008 by Robert, Jenny and their daughter Sophie Haik; when they decided to introduce traditional Turkish towel designs and "foutas" to the United States. Tea towels, napkins, tablecloths and aprons round out their line.
The family says, "If we had to use one word to describe our products, it would be ORGANIC and VERSATILE."
So what is a "Fouta"? The family says, "Originally used as a towel in the ancient Hammam spa, it is large and absorbent to be used as a bath towel, beach towel, a wrap, a throw, a runner on a table, a tablecloth, a picnic blanket, a scarf and so much more."
Pamela Berger of Sweet Peach Pam says these made her list because she's obsessed with tea towels, "I first allocated one drawer in my kitchen to them, then two, now I have all sorts of tea towels all over my house and when I'm in my kitchen cooking, I always have one on my person somewhere."
